At the beginning, when the term “sustainability” became an integral part of everyday life, several alternatives to the materials considered more damaging (plastic included) were born, known as bio-plastics.
There’s still a lot of confusion regarding this word.
These are polymers with the characteristic of being biodegradable and/or compostable and, where it’s the customer to ask for this feature, our products are made with biodegradable bioplastics (not compostable).
However, in order to classify the finished product with this category (otherwise it remains a characteristic of the material used), certain parameters must be respected, both regarding raw materials composition and final pieces’ technical design (defined by standards such as UNI EN 13432 which we invite you to read if you are interested in knowing more).
This is certainly a valid solution, which must be developed with those customers having clear in mind the perception they want the final consumer has of the brand (and is also willing to realize it economically). However, sometimes this solution is not the preferred one, as it generates doubts for the final consumer, who, not being adequately informed, does not know how to proceed with its disposal.
As you could see, the materials we deal with are many and of every type belonging to the plastic world (and alternatives to it). Our production always tries to keep up with the times, for this reason we have also introduced bi-component presses, therefore capable of printing and coupling two different materials.
